Comments from "the mystery writer": " it's not really a poem at all, rather a jumble of stupid rambling......that is titled "Ode to Ninth Grade". "

I talked to some old friends a few days ago.

          It was weird.

      Why do I feel so guilty?



  one was tall and blond

       he always sat in my lap

on valentine's day he gave me a stuffed bear that     looked like a deer

      he liked to sing and make funny faces

 

    one was short and had dirty hair

      she loved this cartoon band

   she always drew dogs, and dragons

     she wore boxers to PE class and had a panic attack in English

      i didn't go see her musical

 

 one had bright red hair and a thick new york accent

        she always said "all that jazz"

    I saw her in a play where she was an old lady

         she showed me her paintings



     one was tall and played volleyball

          she was from Belguim

 I drank tea and watched Monty Python at her house once

         she wanted to be a drummer in a jazz band



    I left them for a new school.

  Pretended they weren't cool enough for me.

         To be a friend......

    Why do I feel so guilty?
